The thing that makes PayPal great is that it largely remains unchanged from the PayPal of 1999. Take a page from this one folks: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Grow it. Watching the vast swath of Lemmings jump off the cliff of rich internet application into a stormy sea of browser incompatibility.
