Apple News:HomeKit Compatible Philips Hue Bridge Appears In Retail Listing Ahead Of Launch | Redmond Pie

HomeKit Compatible Philips Hue Bridge Appears In Retail Listing Ahead Of Launch | Redmond Pie
The arrival of the Hue Bridge hasn’t yet been officially announced by Philips and the store entry has now been removed by the Dutch website that outed it. That didn’t happen before screenshots of the entry were taken, with the Hue Bridge listed as costing €60. We don’t yet know when this hardware will go on sale except that it’s coming sometime this fall or indeed how much that price will be when translated to international currency, but just the fact that we know the Hue Bridge to exist should give hope to those who kitted their homes out with Philips Hue light bulbs not too long ago, only to find that they aren’t natively compatible with HomeKit.

I love this technology. But not for the original intended usage.

Apple News:Apple shows continued interest in fuel cell-powered devices with weeklong battery life

Apple shows continued interest in fuel cell-powered devices with weeklong battery life
Published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday, the application was originally submitted by Apple in March, and actually represents a continuation of two patents from 2010, one of which was previously spotted by AppleInsider. Text and diagrams depict not only a fuel cell stack for generating power, but related aspects like connections with the portable device and a cartridge system for adding fuel.

Wugga wugga.

Apple News:Intel announces Skylake processor lineup with new Core M subfamilies, speed & graphics boosts

Intel announces Skylake processor lineup with new Core M subfamilies, speed & graphics boosts: "Intel is revising its dual-core Core M (Y-series) naming convention with Skylake, breaking the category down into subfamilies dubbed Core m3, m5 and m7. Four chips are being offered: a 900MHz Core m3, two 1.1GHz Core m5 versions differentiated by Intel vPro and Intel TXT support, and a 1.2GHz Core m7 option. Each CPU sports Turbo Boost technology, 4MB of L3 cache and Intel HD Graphics 515. A Pentium version is also lumped in with the low-power mobile processor line, but lacks Turbo Boost and carries only 2MB of L3 cache. "
Y is for Yay!

YouTube Gaming Arrives On iOS, Android And Web To Compete With Twitch | Redmond Pie
Only currently available to those in the United States and the United Kingdom, YouTube Gaming allows gamers to live stream their exploits to the world in very much a similar way to how Twitch has been working for a long, long time.

This points to the future of something, but what? In any event, it was a brilliant strategic acquisition by Amazon.
