Apple News:Apple targets for Apple Watch battery life revealed, A5-caliber CPU inside | 9to5Mac

Apple targets for Apple Watch battery life revealed, A5-caliber CPU inside | 9to5Mac: "Apple opted to use a relatively powerful processor and high-quality screen for the Apple Watch, both of which contribute to significant power drain. Running a stripped-down version of iOS codenamed SkiHill, the Apple S1 chip inside the Apple Watch is surprisingly close in performance to the version of Apple’s A5 processor found inside the current-generation iPod touch."
Sounds a lot like device fragmentation. Or wouldn't it be great to have SkiHill on an iPod.

This is an awesome website.

Apple News:iOS developers share their earnings, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way | 9to5Mac

iOS developers share their earnings, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way | 9to5Mac: "If you write iOS apps and wonder how your earnings compare against those of other developers – or you have an idea for an app, and are wondering whether it’s worth pursuing – it can be tough to find any hard information. We hear occasional stories about hugely successful apps like Flappy Bird making hundreds of thousands of dollars per day, and we know there are some apps with literally zero downloads to their name, but what about the middle ground?"
Fascinating, Jim!

Apple News:Intel CEO says relationship with Apple strong amid rumors of Apple-designed Mac processors | 9to5Mac

Intel CEO says relationship with Apple strong amid rumors of Apple-designed Mac processors | 9to5Mac: "As we reported earlier this week, often reliable KGI is predicting that Apple will bring its in-house designed A-series processor to an entry-level Mac sometime in 2016 with TSMC and Samsung expected to fab the potential A9X and A10X chips, respectively. As the move to put non-Intel chips in the Mac lineup would be a departure for the company, CNBC asked Intel CEO Brian Krzanich about the chip-maker’s business plans with Apple…"
No two huge companies can avoid competing. After all, Intel is going after Chromebooks with vigor.

Apple News:KGI: Apple is designing its own Mac processors; Intel and Global Foundry added to Apple’s chipmaking stable | 9to5Mac

KGI: Apple is designing its own Mac processors; Intel and Global Foundry added to Apple’s chipmaking stable | 9to5Mac
A KGI report predicts that Apple will begin using its own processors for Macs “in the next 1-2 years,” with a specific prediction of a Samsung-fabbed A10X chip powering at least one Mac made in 2016. The wording appears to suggest an entry-level machine–possibly a future model of the 12-inch MacBook Air.

This is why I don't write processor specific code anymore. GLSL forevah!

Apple News:IDC: Q4 2014 PC growth better than expected, all-time high for Macs predicted | 9to5Mac

IDC: Q4 2014 PC growth better than expected, all-time high for Macs predicted | 9to5Mac: "IDC projects that Apple sold 5.75 million Mac units during the holiday quarter and that 2.245 million of those machines were sold just in the United States. As Ben Bajarin notes, this 5.75 million number (if accurate) would mean that the 2014 holiday quarter is Apple’s best all-time quarter for Mac sales."
I can't tell: is this good news for Apple?

Apple News:The Biggest Lesson I Learned as an Apple Designer | Inc.com

The Biggest Lesson I Learned as an Apple Designer | Inc.com: "When my team and I were ready to launch the first version of the Storehouse iPad app, we missed our deadline several times. And we did so with a sense of relief, not a feeling of dread. That's because I took what I'd learned from my time at Apple, rather than taking an MVP approach--and when we launched, everyone in the company was proud of what we'd built."
Yawn...

Apple News:Review: Incipio’s offGRID Express is the most affordable Apple-authorized iPhone 6 battery case | 9to5Mac

Review: Incipio’s offGRID Express is the most affordable Apple-authorized iPhone 6 battery case | 9to5Mac: "If I had to choose one word to describe how Incipio’s past iPhone offGRID battery cases felt, it would probably be ‘svelte,’ as they were all impressively thin and gently curved. Starting today, Incipio is shipping its first offGRID case for the iPhone 6, and it notably trades ‘svelte’ for ‘edgy’ design. "
Svelte.

Apple News:Review: Adobe Ink and Slide

Review: Adobe Ink and Slide: "Earlier this year, digital media monolith Adobe introduced its first foray into hardware with Ink and Slide, a stylish stylus and ruler combo with forward-thinking features and a sleek design. AppleInsider was able to take both for a test drive. "
If it were under $100, it would be a no brainer for me.
