Apple News:Google’s Pixel phone event: what to expect - The Verge

Google’s Pixel phone event: what to expect - The Verge: "Now that Apple has had its big fall phone event, it’s Google’s turn to show off its goods. And that’s going to happen next week, October 4th, at an event in San Francisco. We’ll be there live covering the event soup to nuts, with a live blog and more. But if you want a heads up for what the rumors suggest that Google’s likely to announce, you’ve come to the right place."

Me too, me three.

Apple News:Unity at 10: For better—or worse—game development has never been easier | Ars Technica

Unity at 10: For better—or worse—game development has never been easier | Ars Technica: "Since it was introduced in 2005, Unity has tried to make creating video games possible for everyone regardless of technical know-how or budget. Upon hitting a stable release, Unity took home an award at Apple’s 2006 Worldwide Developer’s Conference after being showcased as the first fully powered game engine—a platform with basic graphics capabilities, physics calculations, and some game behaviors already coded in but extensible—for the iPhone. Unity stood largely uncontested on that platform for a couple of years and quickly became a well-known tool among developers."

Like a lot of ground-breaking technology: was envisioned and developed on the Mac, the most productive coding environment around.

Review: Apple Watch Series 2 is a great improvement, but watchOS 3 steals the showThough it looks largely identical to its predecessor, the new Apple Watch Series 2 has a number of noteworthy hardware improvements.
For anyone who has used the Apple Watch before, the most noticeable change will be the new dual-core S2 processor. As expected, everything is simply faster, from launching apps to using Siri to just navigating around.

Apple News:TypeScript, Microsoft’s JavaScript for big applications, reaches version 2.0 | Ars Technica

TypeScript, Microsoft’s JavaScript for big applications, reaches version 2.0 | Ars Technica: "TypeScript 2.0 brings a range of new features, but the biggest is control over these null values. With TypeScript 2.0, programmers can opt into a new behavior that by default prevents values from being null. With this option enabled, variables by default will be required to have a value and can't be set to null accidentally. This in turn allows the compiler to find other errors such as variables that are never initialized."

After 23 years, the Apple II gets another OS update | Ars TechnicaYesterday, software developer John Brooks released what is clearly a work of pure love: the first update to an operating system for the Apple II computer family since 1993. ProDOS 2.4, released on the 30th anniversary of the introduction of the Apple II GS, brings the enhanced operating system to even older Apple II systems, including the original Apple ][ and ][+.
You're not considered an enthusiast until you update someone else's 8bit 6502 ROM code.
