Apple News:Intel unveils Kaby Lake, its first post-“tick-tock” CPU architecture | Ars Technica

Intel unveils Kaby Lake, its first post-“tick-tock” CPU architecture | Ars TechnicaIn 2014, when Intel’s 14nm process delays were holding up the Broadwell architecture, the company released a lineup of “Haswell refresh” processors that used small clock speed increases to outrun 2013’s original Haswell chips. Kaby Lake, despite a handful of changes and improvements, is only a slightly bigger deal.
Do you haby the kaby?

Apple News:Michigan mulling bill to allow driverless cars on public roads | Ars Technica

Michigan mulling bill to allow driverless cars on public roads | Ars Technica: "A Michigan senator has introduced a bill that would make it legal for driverless autonomous vehicles to roam the streets of his state. Tomorrow, a committee on economic development will hold a hearing to discuss the bill, which has support from both Democrats and Republicans in Michigan’s senate."

I hope the lawmakers and engineers will be liable for manslaughter just as with a car with a human driver. I'm not liable for hitting that man, officer, my limited liability corporation was driving the car when the accident occurred.

Apple News:Five-storey Blue Screen Of Death spotted in Thailand • The Register

Five-storey Blue Screen Of Death spotted in Thailand • The Register: "Windows crashing and producing the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) is seldom pleasant, or convenient.

It's also seldom as conspicuously displayed as in the image below, which The Register found on Facebook late last week. By your correspondent's reckoning, that there is a five-storey BSOD."

Oh, so cheeky.

Apple News:PC pioneer Gary Kildall's unpublished memoir revealed • The Register

PC pioneer Gary Kildall's unpublished memoir revealed • The Register: "Kildall died aged just 52, in 1994, but in his short earned fame for developing CP/M, an operating system that became an early de facto standard for PC operating systems. As more people wanted to run CP/M on more systems, Kildall promoted the idea of a BIOS that would let computers boot into a simple state from which a full operating system would be loaded."
