Apple News:First look: Microsoft Surface 2 with Type Cover 2

First look: Microsoft Surface 2 with Type Cover 2 - The Surface 2 and its more powerful counterpart, the Surface Pro 2, were unveiled by Microsoft last month. The low-end Surface 2 is most directly an iPad competitor, while the Surface Pro 2 runs a traditional Intel processor, making it more of a competitor to Apple's MacBook Air.

Still a huge step forward for PC thinkers. Watch the linux geeks take hold of it and run .

Apple News:Apple announces new iPad Air: thinner, lighter & more powerful, coming Nov. 1

Apple announces new iPad Air: thinner, lighter & more powerful, coming Nov. 1 - Other features of the iPad Air are a 5-megapixel iSight camera, an improved forward-facing FaceTime Camera, and dual microphones, all while still featuring the same 10-hour battery life, even as nearly a half-pound has been shaved off of the device's weight.

If they keep dumbing-down the MacBook Pro and ramping up the iPad, pretty soon nobody will buy Macs. Except iOS developers of course. Nothing says happy customer like "no other option".

Apple News:During development, Apple's gold iPhone 5s was jokingly called the 'Kardashian'

During development, Apple's gold iPhone 5s was jokingly called the 'Kardashian'
Apple employees had a humorous nickname for the gold iPhone 5s as they were planning to release the new color option: They called it "The Kardashian Phone.""

Naturally, a Kardashian phone would have twice as much talk time. For oversharing.
