Apple News:Apple targets for Apple Watch battery life revealed, A5-caliber CPU inside | 9to5Mac

Apple targets for Apple Watch battery life revealed, A5-caliber CPU inside | 9to5Mac: "Apple opted to use a relatively powerful processor and high-quality screen for the Apple Watch, both of which contribute to significant power drain. Running a stripped-down version of iOS codenamed SkiHill, the Apple S1 chip inside the Apple Watch is surprisingly close in performance to the version of Apple’s A5 processor found inside the current-generation iPod touch."
Sounds a lot like device fragmentation. Or wouldn't it be great to have SkiHill on an iPod.

Apple News:With this $40M, Q&A startup Stack Exchange could become a dev-hiring powerhouse | VentureBeat | Deals | by Jordan Novet

With this $40M, Q&A startup Stack Exchange could become a dev-hiring powerhouse | VentureBeat | Deals | by Jordan Novet: "Software luminary Joel Spolsky figured out some years ago that if you want your startup to get big really fast, venture capital can help. And Spolsky, the chief executive of Stack Exchange, the company that runs question-answering websites like the popular programmer hangout Stack Overflow, is completely convinced that Stack Overflow could become the premiere place on the Internet for finding and hiring the best developers around."
This is an awesome website.

Apple News:iOS developers share their earnings, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way | 9to5Mac

iOS developers share their earnings, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way | 9to5Mac: "If you write iOS apps and wonder how your earnings compare against those of other developers – or you have an idea for an app, and are wondering whether it’s worth pursuing – it can be tough to find any hard information. We hear occasional stories about hugely successful apps like Flappy Bird making hundreds of thousands of dollars per day, and we know there are some apps with literally zero downloads to their name, but what about the middle ground?"
Fascinating, Jim!
