iPhone 6 renders supposedly meant for accessory manufacturers leak, claim 6mm thinness | 9to5Mac
These sizes point to a screen of about 4.7 inches, as suggested many times before. These dimensions mean the iPhone will be similar in size to the Galaxy S5, albeit a tad shorter, for comparison."

Here it comes!

Apple News:Lytro's new Illum camera brings light-field tech to pros (and it could change photos forever) | VentureBeat | Gadgets | by Devindra Hardawar

Lytro's new Illum camera brings light-field tech to pros (and it could change photos forever) | VentureBeat | Gadgets | by Devindra Hardawar
Using a new 40-megaray sensor (Lytro uses the term “megaray” to determine a single light field unit, its original camera only had an 11-megaray sensor), the Illum offers finer tuning for refocusing images and more advanced 3D viewing possibilities. Despite the megaray upgrade, the Illum only produces flattened 2D images between four and six megapixels."

Super cool and futuristic. Is it real?

Apple News:Latest unverified photos from Weibo claim to show iPhone 6 schematics, production tools | 9to5Mac

Latest unverified photos from Weibo claim to show iPhone 6 schematics, production tools | 9to5Mac
A new batch of photos appearing on the Weibo social network claim to show new production schematics and die for manufacturing the body of the iPhone 6 inside a Foxoconn facility, as noted by GforGames. A few of the photos (below) definitely show some sort of technical design documents, though we can’t be sure what they show as they are both incredibly technical and written in Chinese."

Top secret, my arse! Hard to be secret in a connected world.

Apple News:App.io brings its HTML5 iOS app demos to interactive ads on mobile devices | 9to5Mac

App.io brings its HTML5 iOS app demos to interactive ads on mobile devices | 9to5Mac - I’ve covered App.io a few times in the past. The service, which allows app devs to deploy fully useable HTML5 demo versions of their native iOS apps on the web, first launched under the name “Kickfolio” back in 2012.

Here's a great idea: turn a working prototype into an ad for the same app.

Probably first seen in a MacBook Air.

Apple News:Microsoft says Office iPad apps hit 12 million downloads a week after release | 9to5Mac

Microsoft says Office iPad apps hit 12 million downloads a week after release | 9to5Mac - After announcing the release of the Office for iPad apps late last month, Microsoft announced today that the separate Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps for iPad have collectively reached 12 million downloads a week after release.

Regardless as to whether you like MS Office, this is a huge win for the platform. I don't imagine they'll be porting office to Java anytime soon.

Apple News:Apple's premium-priced Macs 'defy the laws of economics,' but iPhone does not, Needham says

Apple's premium-priced Macs 'defy the laws of economics,' but iPhone does not, Needham says - Mac sales have continued to grow in the face of a recession and declining overall PC market, but Apple's iPhone could not escape shifting trends in the smartphone space, analyst Charlie Wolf of Needham said on Tuesday.

So, my particular theory on the so-called Halo effect is that it is the byproduct of iOS Developers purchasing Mac hardware to do development. That would include corporate in-house development teams making custom apps for iOS.
